On the basis of our ingredient criteria, HeartSavior was chosen as the best combination of natural herbs to lower cholesterol. The Company asserts that their product formulation was clinically proven to lower LDL cholesterol naturally by up to 34%. Plus HeartSavior even includes the heart and cholesterol supplement COQ10 which reverses the aging process of the heart. This rare combination makes Heart Savior our featured supplement and the only supplement to receive a 5 star rating.
Lipidshield also includes the top 4 cholesterol ingredients, but does not include the powerful anti-inflammatory CO-Q10. It does appear to be a more cost effective version of heart savior. This formula receives a 4 star rating. This supplement will more than likely lower your cholesterol, but possibly not as much as Heart Savior. CoQ10 is much more important as a person ages. We recommend Heart Savior over LipidShield for older age groups and for people with stubbornly high cholesterol. If you are young with high modestly high cholesterol, LipidShield is an excellent option.
Cholesterclear and Cholest Off are repackaged forms of plant sterols. The benefits of Cholesterclear and Cholest Off over generic plant sterols is unclear and yet the cost difference is significant. The formulas do not offer any benefit for cholesterol produced in the liver since plant sterols and stanols only block the absorption of cholesterol from food. Cholesterclear and Cholest Off receive a 1 star rating. Between the two, cholesterclear contains "certified plant sterols," but we have no idea what it is certified for. Cholest Off is half the cost, but we cannot find any testimonials or product guarantees. The formulas are incomplete, have the worst product guarantees, and have no heart health or circulatory support. They each receive 1 out of 5 star rating.
Cholestasys is a solid formula, but does not include Red Yeast Rice or CoQ10. Red yeast rice is a very important ingredient for blocking the production of cholesterol produced in the liver. Unfortunately most of the cholesterol in our blood stream is produced in our liver not from the food we eat. This lowered the genetic cholesterol rating from "complete" to "good." We recommend that if you have high cholesterol and are taking cholestasys, you should further supplement with Red Yeast Rice and CoQ10. This further increases the cost of this already expensive supplement. The biggest negative points of Cholestasys are the lack of red yeast rice, CoQ10, formula trials, and the high price tag. All in all, an average supplement with a high price tag. We give it 3 stars. It may lower your cholesterol, but not as effectively as some other options.
